Very good cookies, but I suggest following the adjustments made by beach94394_11312019 Hilton Head Island on Dec 22, 2011. They turned out delicious!

Great recipe with a few changes. I needed a lot of cookies so I doubled the dryn ingredients, and after reading previous reviews I added 2 tsp of baking powder, for my wet ingredients I used 3 sticks of butter, 3 eggs and 3 tbsp of milk. The cookies were perfect, crunchy on the outside and chewy in the middle. Yummy, I also suggest using mint m&m's for a festive touch.

Like several others, I wish I had read the reviews here before trying this recipe.
Thinking this would be a wonderful recipe to share with family for the holidays I doubled the batch, it was so dry and thick I couldn't stir it to fold everything together. Once I got it all incorporated I test baked a couple of cookies, they were just lumps on the cookie sheet. Rich, decadent, crumbly lumps, but still just lumps.
After reading suggestions from other I went back and added 1 egg, 1 1/2 tablespoons of milk and some baking powder(per batch. The second test batch spread a little more but the dough is still very crumbly.
With the expense of the ingredients along with the inaccuracies in the recipe and the poor texture, I doubt I will make these again.

Although the taste and combination of ingredients are GOOD, the execution of this recipe sucks. The way they tell you how to make it makes ur cookies turn out dry and crumbly!!! What i would do different is sift the flour, salt, and cocoa together into a separate bowl from the rest of the baking dry ingredients, and after mixing the egg, butter, sugar, and vanilla; slowly incorporate the flour mixture into it to make a batter. Then, add in the chips and nuts. I dont know if that will help reduce the dryness or texture of the batter but if not, then it needs to be adjusted so add more eggs or butter/oil/water??? Bad recipe overall , taste gets 5 stars tho.
-If this were to be sent as a gift in a jar, make sure u tell the recipient to sift all the ingredients in the jar so the flour n cocoa falls out, then do wat i suggested up there.

Saved this from '09 and created the jar this evening. On a whim decided to test. What a mess! The test kitchens get an F on this one. They should at least attempt to correct since many people tried it with no success. I may go back and add egg and milk to some reserved dough, but am kind of thinking -- why bother. SO disappointed. What a waste of time and ingredients. Tried no stars, but have to give it at least one in order to post. :(

I made these cookies for christmas gifts last christmas, and I will definitely be making them again! They were so good, and huge hits. The recipe is actually a lot more complicated (and expensive than it appears because you need to add all of the ingredients from the mix that they tell you to click on... but SO worth it. LOVED THEM.

These cookies look fantastic, although I might pass out from the sugar high! I love using the holidays as an excuse to start trying out all sorts of recipes. Even though we're just barely at Halloween, It's never too early to start checking out great Christmas Recipes. I use to work for http://christmas.betterrecipes.com/christmasdessertrecipes.html and they have some amazing ideas for the holiday season.
