The latkes went over very well at my friend's Hanukkah party. I think the mix could have used a little more eggs, as I had trouble keeping them together during the frying. I am not a fan of chinese five spice so the applesauce was not my favorite, but everyone else loved the combination.

These are the best latkes I've ever had. Last year I made these and the traditional kind. Same this year. This year, they were the first to go at the family party.
