LOVED this recipe and wanted more.

    Suggestions:

Substitutions: olive oil, tri-tip beef, for simplicity, use one can of chopped peeled tomatoes
Elimination: did not add more tomatoes as topping

Correction: in the direction section...1 cube the beef
2 add jalapenos when you add the tomatoes

I like this as an alternative to the packaged taco mixes which contain preservatives and other probable toxins. I would leave the cilantro until the very last moment for that nice punch of flavor before serving. For those people that don't like this, try to use a good chicken broth like Knorr and make sure your spices are fresh to enhance the flavor. Good stuff, Tyler!

I didnt think they were a little sin. I make better tacos using the lawrys seasoning packs.

This recipe has become a staple in my house. There are only 2 of us, so there's usually enough meat leftover for lunch the next day. We make it with ground bison meat. It's so easy, the flavor is really deep and it tastes so much better than those packets of seasoning mix. And most of the ingredients are stuff I always have on hand - all I have to remember is to pick up a jalepeno pepper and cilantro.

so good, so easy...you will never have to resort to taco seasoning packets again. the only changes i made to the recipe was that i used a little over a pound of ground sirloin and used a small can of petite diced tomatoes in place of the canned whole tomatoes. i'm looking forward to trying this with shredded chicken.
