Frosting was ok. As another reviewer mentioned, mine never formed peaks. Instead, it was just a thick, runny mess. I tried frosting one cupcake, but it ended up just running everywhere. It tasted good, with a hint of tea flavor, but I was disappointed in the consistency. I did not make the tea cakes.

I've made this recipe twice in the last month and both times the cup cakes were a huge hit. I made these with the Earl Grey icing the first time for my English themed afternoon tea party and my guests loved them. The second time I made mini cup cakes with my own icing recipe. I'm not usually a successful baker, but this recipe was victoriously easy to follow and delicious.

These were great! The cake was almost like a fudgy brownie but still very light. The icing had a very nice earl gray taste. Since my family is filled with tea lovers, this recipe was very much enjoyed.

The icing never formed peaks and I ended up with a watery glaze instead of icing. I checked a few other recipes for Earl Grey icing and they list _confectioner's_ sugar as the ingredient. Maybe there's a mistake in this recipe?

I really enjoyed this recipe, my husband however, did not. I think it's mostly because he does not typically enjoy tea. The cakes are moist and delicious (he's not a chocolate fan either...ok, maybe I made this one for me. I think anyone who loves tea will enjoy this surprising dessert. I will make it again, but this time, I'll probably share it with my mother!

Quick and Easy. I frosted the cupcakes with a chocolate ganache and cooled them, just like another reviewer, before using the earl grey frosting. Chocolate ganache never hurt anyone! I also decorated with dark chocolate daisies that I bought at my local specialty food store. YUM

Beautiful recipe! Cupcakes tasted like a light brownie. Frosting was light and tasty. Loved the tea taste. Easy to follow recipe instructions too. I made 12 large cupcakes and 8 minis. We ate the minis without frosting. The large ones I swirled in ganache first, cooled, then piped on the frosting. So good! Thanks for the recipe.

Amazing. This recipe combines two things I love...tea and chocolate. In honor of National Tea Month, my office held a baking contest that required the entries to include tea in the recipe. There were 11 entries and this recipe won it for me! The only change that I made was that I also included tea in the cupcake itself, which intensified the tea flavor. I infused the butter with loose earl grey tea by following the instructions on cupcakeproject. I also garnished the cupcake with a chocolate chip. This recipe is a keeper!

I thought these cupcakes were unique, and simply scrumptious. When I went to make them, however, I didn't have any Earl Gray tea, so I used some mint tea that I had instead. The mint tastes great, and compliments the chocolate of the cake perfectly. I give this a perfect 10!
