I read the review and found that the frosting sounded was very different because I was tired of cream cheese frosting and peanut butter frosting. VERY easy to make and the cupcakes were very rich, fluffy and moist; great with or without icing. The frosting was simple to make and was very fluffy and tender. The hint of earl grey....MMMMM.... Instead of 24, I got 18 regular cupcakes and felt disappointed because it tastes great and I'm afraid that they'll disappear fast =]

Next time I'll be making the frosting, I'm going to cut it in half but since it tastes so good you can use it for something else since there was a lot of it. I'm afraid I'll have to make them again since there's only so many left and my family will look forward to eating it again =]

I like this recipe. The earl gray icing is excellent. The cakes are great. But I would use a toothpick to determine if it's done -- the press method is just too difficult. I ended up with overdone cakes ...

Moist, delicious and unexpected tea flavor in the marshmallowy frosting. Held up for several days.

These are simply delicious! I don't have much of a sweet tooth, but I love tea so I had to try it. So yummy! Not your typical dessert, the earl grey tea gives it a nice kick and its not extremely sweet like your average cupcake.

These light and sweet cupcakes are just wonderful! The cake itself is not too sweet at all but has just enough chocolate flavor. The icing, however, is the "icing on the cake." It is delightfully sweet. The tea gives it just a hint of citrus sweetness, but the tea flavor does not overwhelm.
Be forewarned, however...this is a messy recipe. My daughter and I have chocolate batter and sticky icing everywhere. It's well worth the mess, though!

I wasn't sure how this icing would look and taste, but had wanted to try it since I saw it in the magazine, and it was great - light, creamy, cute, and complimented the chocolate cake perfectly! Next time I might add a little more tea, but my husband said it was perfect as-is. I can't comment on this chocolate cake since I used the cake recipe for the peanut butter cup mini-cupcakes (another good topping option!, but I will definitely use this Earl Grey icing again!
