This soup turned out well. My first time EVER making ANY soup and I was very proud...but its missing something. I can't but my finger on it.

From Texas so used to eating this soup a lot but in the future would use less chili powder and add a bit of cumon. Green onions are a nice touch to add too.

This was a really awesome recipe. I made it just like explained, but added a few more ingredients. I added a pinch of cumin powder for more taste. While serving, I added cheese and half an avacado which just made the soup even more tasty. One more thing, instead of adding the tortilla chips in the bottom of the soup, add it on top. Else it can become too mushy. My husband, who never has soup anywhere, simply loved this one and we made a dinner out of it !!!!!

Easy to make and absolutely flavorful -- a delicious soup to add to my repertoire. I hadn't eaten tortilla soup since having it years ago in a hole-in-the-wall restaurant near LA. I can't believe I'm saying this, but this soup was EVEN better!

This is equal to or better than any tortilla soups I've eaten in restaurants. Good and spicy, but not over the top. Lots of flavor. My husband said this should be a staple soup in our house.

The full tablespoon of chili powder in this recipie is too overpowering for the rest of the flavors, next time I would use half that amount. Besides that it was good, but different from tortilla soup that I am used to eating in resturants.

This was absolutely wonderful. I used chicken thighs-browned them ahead for some color, and added them whole into the soup. I also added an extra 1/2tsp of cayenne and 1/2 a jalapeno instead of adobo, as well as a can of chopped tomoatoes instead of the single tomato. I threw it all into a crockpot too and was absolutely wonderful! So easy and fast!

I loved this soup. I made this with tortilla strips. Perfect!
