Nice presentation. Not too complicated. Ruined my first batch of sugar. Added a little bit of lemon juice on my second try. Did not crystalize.

Made this for Christmas Dinner - everyone loved it! I was not successful in making the carmelized layer for the bottom of the pan - after throwing out two batches of "muck" (and I did swirl the pan as opposed to stirring, I substituted a small amount of maple syrup. Worked like a charm!

Fab.u.lous!!! I was worried about attempting this, but it wasn't difficult just time consuming, and the result is total wow!!! I look like a rock star. I'll be making this again and again.

cooked a 1/2 pound of bacon and placed in on top of the vegetables, before placing the cheese on top - fantastic! finished product was a bit sweet for my taste, so i will add more salt text time...

We had wine, crackers, cheese, and a beautiful vegetable tarte tatin as our center piece. Everyone loved it! The puff pastry was a good dough to use for this dish.

Prepping the vegetables took long but it's worth it. The cooking part was easy. And the taste was a little too sweet, for my second try at making this I added more salt and roasted the vegetables with garlic powder instead of just salt, and pepper.

This dish requires a lot of work but can done!

Note: Caramel hardens really quick after you add the vinegar.

I have made this two times now and it is awesome, but as others noted here, the caramel is a bit tricky both time I have made it I usually end up having to do it twice, but it is worth it

I agree with the other reviews; the caramel was definitely the hardest part. After two failed attempts, I think I put the vinegar in too early and I had more of a sugary glaze. It still tasted really good - it just didn't have the delicious amber coloring on top. Despite this, my dinner guests loved this recipe and everyone gave such rave reviews. I will definitely make again.

This was absolutely delicious! I did make a few changes according to personal preferences. I added carrots and golden beets to the veg, replaced mozzarelle with gruyere and replaced oregano with thyme and rosemary. My husband and I ate the whole 9x13 pan ourselves. Prep goes super fast if you have a mandoline.

I've made this several times. Last Christmas day, for a school luncheon, and tomorrow I'm serving at our Stamp Up card class. I usually roast the vegetables the night before. This saves on time the next day. I recommend this to everyone whether you like the vegetables or not. It is yummy!

This is a delicious dish, but it takes soooo long to prepare. Great addition to our Thanksgiving meal. I have made it twice, it was perfect the first time, but the caramel got a little chewy the second time....not sure what I did wrong!
