Frozen and mashed watermelon is not a recipe for a slushie!
Now if you small diced up some strawberries, a little mint, mixed in the watermelon slush and add a splash of club soda...now we're talking.

If you are pregnant like me (or just bloated or swollen for whatever reason, buy a watermelon WITH seeds. Freeze chunks. Put the watermelon AND THE SEEDS in the blender to make the slushie. This is a great drink for helping your body get rid of excess fluid.

This is much better with a little fresh lemon and a couple of spoons of sugar.

I thought of a few other things to do with the watermelon puree:

    1. Make popsicles.
    2. Make snow cones. Add a berry syrup!
    3. Instead of using a shallow container in which to freeze the puree, use a gallon size ziplock bag. Lay it flat to freeze. You can still use it to keep other items cold in the cooler, and it's easy to thaw a bit and mash it up by just squeezing the bag! Leave a few small chunks for eating, and add a straw. Yum!
