I'm in heaven! This is so delicious!!! I used turkey sausage & wheat flour cuz that's what I had: Gave it a few shakes of Adobo seasoning too. No need to go out for breakfast!!!

I used the fat from about 8 pieces of bacon and only used 1 cup of milk, by using the bacon pan i was able to get all the bits that stuck to the bottom adding a lot of flavor. Came out amazing, by only using 1 cup of milk it made just enough for two people, but i will say i had to add salt.

I followed the recipe as closely as possible and what I experienced was: thin biscuits that had a nice flavor, but that were not fluffy at all, and somewhat bland gravy. Does anyone have any sausage recommendations? I used a high-quality mildly spicy italian pork sausage because I wanted to make sure it had a lot of flavor, but something just wasn't right. I think a sage-flavored or country-style sausage might work better, and then adding a bunch of other spices like cayenne, nutmeg, etc., as others have suggested. I don't think this is my holy grail sausage and biscuits recipe, but it was good and my BF thought it was yummy...maybe I'm just picky!

I made this for breakfast on Valentine's Day for my boyfriend. It was so easy and turned out perfectly, I even used a cookie cutter to make heart-shaped biscuits!! I'm very picky with the biscuits I make and these were superb!! Best biscuit recipe I've ever used and my new go-to one! I also added a little milk with the leftover gravy to thin it out the next day and it was just as good! Love it and recommend it!

This is by far the best biscuits and gravy recipe we've ever had. Definitely a keeper. We used turkey breakfast sausage and followed the recipe exactly. Leftovers needed a little milk added to the gravy for consistency. Absolutely perfect biscuits! Flaky and delicious. We will make this many times, I'm sure.

It's a good basic sausage gravy recipe! What I found is that it ends up very thick and not enough volume to feed a group AND have leftovers at these quantities. So I add butter to the drippings to bring the volume up to about 3 Tbls, and increase the flour to 3 Tbls and the milk to 3 cups. I think it comes out well balanced for the pound of sausage. Oh, and I add a ton of pepper but no salt because the sausage adds a good balance of saltiness.

Came together well. Great flavor, but you must make sure you use the right sausage. Does need salt added to balance flavor. I would make it again.
