Simple, yet tasty. Just needed to add a little salt, and I used Pillsbury Biscuits. Yumm

I never really review on here, but this time it's different. I had always been nervous about making sausage gravy because I didn't want to ruin the taste I have always known, but Paula Deen's got it down! It was really easy and super tasty! I used Bob evan's sausage and 2% milk and it came out great!

I would recommend buying sausage you would eat in a patty rather than something cheap/plain. But this was an easy and inexpensive lunch!

I've always loved biscuits and gravy and always had to go out for it because I was afraid to make it myself. Now I don't have to! This is quick, easy and good! Just what I like!

Always loved biscuits and gravy as a kid, but with so many variations of gravy, didn't know where to start. I've made this several times now and the biggest thing is knowing your sausage and having enough rendered fat. Definitely one for the Recipe Box!

Out of curiosity, I decided to make these babies from scratch and I'm glad I did. My roomies loved them. They're good with jam, gravy, and eggs. Why buy instant when you can gain so much satisfaction by making you own!?

If you know your sausage beforehand. If it's a bit on the lean side, plan on adding a bit of bacon fat rather than veggie oil. If it's not spicy enough, add black pepper, ground sage, hot sauce, whatever you like.
Personally, I feel that black pepper is almost always needed in making sausage gravy; I always add a bit of paprika, a tiny grating of nutmeg, and I always, always use some bacon fat in cooking the minced onions I enjoy in this before I cook off the sausage. YMMV.

I'd been trying to curb my food spending at work. One biscuit with gravy is $1.80. I can buy a cheap roll of sausage for $1.00.
The biscuits were good and easy, but on a hectic weekday, I'll probably just reheat the leftover gravy and pour over toast. I'll get several breakfasts for the price for one order at work.

My mother tried to teach me to make gravy and I failed miserably, so I've been scared of making it. Couldn't find the mix this trip so decided to try to make my own. It was PERFECT!!! I followed the suggestion of 1 3/4 cups of half and half and a 1/2 cup of skim and it turned out beautifully. I will never make sausage gravy from a mix again!
