Super Yummy! The only thing I changed was to separate the eggs and whip the egg whites before adding them at the very end. Next time I will use whole wheat flour. I can't wait to make these waffles again.

So Good! Didn't even "need" syrup, but even better with a drizzle of maple syrup. Delish!

Very good recipe! I added some allspice, nutmeg, vanilla, and honey to the batter for my 2 year old son. He loves french toast and i suspected he would appreciate the added ingredients! Also added some blueberries to the batter! Yum!

Delish! We substituted butter and oil for safflower oil, whole wheat flour for AP and eggbeaters for eggs and the waffles turned out great. Topped off with some fresh summer strawberries, it was a fantastic breakfast!

Very good recipe! I used whole wheat flour like others did to really make them whole grain, but other than that I didn't change anything else. They were soft and not so crispy but I don't mind that. The waffles were yummy without anything on them but putting maple syrup and letting the flavors meld together made for a pretty great breakfast!

this are really good. i dont think you can all them whole grain if you use white flour. i did this time because the last whole wheat ones i made nobody liked. i used applesauce instead of oil and next time i will leve out the cinnamon and add vanilla. if it had truly been whole grain, i would've given it 5 stars.

Looking for a healthier alternative to frozen waffles, I came across this recipe. I don't think the ingredients make for as healthy a recipe as I wanted, so I tweaked it. I used whole wheat flour instead of AP, egg whites only instead of whole eggs, and omitted the butter and oil all together. I did not use any wheat germ. I used half of the baking powder called for and added vanilla. I'm pleased with my results- still fluffy, but crispy, and nice flavor. This was my first time making waffles and it was easier than I thought!

I LOVE all things breakfast, especially for dinner! I've been searching for a truly delectable whole wheat waffle recipe for quite some time, but none came anywhere close to this one. It is delicious!!

Go ahead and use the whole wheat flour and skip the wheat germ. I used corn oil since that's what I had. These waffles didn't come out quite as crispy as usual, but the taste is OUT OF THIS WORLD!! I can eat them right out of the iron, with no toppings.

    Thank you!!

You're kidding, right? It would be so easy to actually make this whole grain by substituting whole wheat flour (or even whole wheat pastry flour for the AP and separating the eggs, beating the whites and folding them into the batter to lighten up the finished product. I'm disappointed you would include this in the healthy recipe section.
