    This is definitely not a whoppie pie- ask anyone from New Wngland. The cake part looks good but as for the filling, this is a Whoopie Pie travesty. Go to the Marshmallow Fluff website and look at the filling for their Whoopie Pies- I think this is the originator of the Whoopie Pie.THey are 'wicked good!". Food Network- honor regional "cuisine" and don't post a glorified s'more- very disappointing.

    A simple marshmallow for the filling????? Whoopie. Here's the filling you want. A little more work, but well worth it...... 1 C. whole milk; 5 T. flour - Wondra works great - 1/2 C. butter; 1/2 C. shortening; 1/4 tsp. salt; 1 C. sifted confectioners sugar; 1 tsp. vanilla............ Measure milk and flour into small saucepan and cook on medium heat until thick. Cool. Cream together butter and shortening until creamy. Add salt, sugar, and vanilla. Mix all until incorporated. With mixer on slow speed, add cooled flour mix, one tablespoon at a time. Beat on medium high for 3 to 4 minutes. I add a few heaping tablespoons of marshmallow fluff. An incredibly awesome filling that stays put!!! And JUST the right amount of sweetness. Enjoy!!!!!!!!!!!!

    They taste really good!, Although i could not find jumbo marshmallows i substituted with the jet puffed marshmallow cream, and i could not get the cookie as poofy as Paulas,' mine ended up thiner :/ but still TASTY!~

    Why go to the extent of helping a home cook build a "from scratch" cookie and then leave them with a mediocre marshmallow? This to me a just a s'more missing the graham. It is not difficult to mix up some tasty mallow fluff in just 15 minutes, then slide it into a greased zip top bag and pipe it onto these tasty morsels. Thereby giving the cook a sincere sense of satisfaction and a very tasty snack!

    I PERSONALLY DIDN'T LIKE THE MARSHMELLOW FOR THE FILLING. NORTHERN MAINE IS KNOWN FOR WOOPI PIE COUNTRY. WE ARE ACTUALLY TRYING TO MAKE THIS STATE THE WOOPI PIE STATE. I HAVE ENTERED MY WOOPI PIES IN THE STATE FAIR AND WON BEST OF SHOW. MY WOOPI PIES HAVE A CREAM FILLING MADE WITH MARSHMELLOW FLUFF IN IT. THEY ARE VERY DELICIOUS.

    They are so decadent and delicious! The rich chocolate cookie makes it only possible to have one but they are to die for!

    These were delicious. I tried a different recipe first and tossed them in the trash because I am a picky camper. I had never baked one of these pies before so I don't even know what is traditional. All I do know is that I loved this recipe and it's a keeper. Because I had researched the various filling recipes, I chose a different filling with shortening, sugar and marshmallow fluff which was just okay.

    These were so easy to make and are absolute heaven. I made them to take to a friend's bbq tomorrow, but I know I'm going to have to make more because some aren't going to...er...make it.

    Although the cookie was WONDERFUL I am used to a MUCH different whoopie pie filling; sweeter and MUCH heavier. This was a much lighter and although different- a very enjoyable version!
