Great flavor and impressive presentation, however, took over an hour to prepare. Segmenting all the fruit, getting the pomegranate seeds, getting all the seeds out of the little cumquats, peeling the kiwi and mango. . . I would offer that you allow the simple sugar mixture to infuse all day and then strain prior to pouring over fruit mixture to sit overnight. Very difficult to pull out the zest, pod and ginger once mixed with all the fruit. We added blueberries last minute to add some more color too.

I am an avid fan of FN and no recipe has ever disappointed me. Sad to say this one did.

I love this recipe-- at our office christmas "potluck" I was assigned a fruit or vegetable tray and decided to change up the usual fruit tray for a winter fruit salad (if I could find it and this was the recipe I came across... Everyone loved it! It looks beautiful, smells amazing, and the flavors are divine! People are still raving about the incredible fruit salad I brought.. I used navel oranges and had a little difficulty getting them segmented perfectly, but it looked phenomenally anyways! Thanks Food Network Magazine for a wonderful holiday surprise!

The syrup flavor is great. Visual appeal is wonderful. I have made the salad 3 times over the holidays and had several requests for the recipe. I subsituted grapes instead of kumquats as they are not available in my area. I did remove the citrus zest, ginger and vanilla pod before pouring syrup over fruit as was difficult after it was mixed in fruit.
