I made these with my husband,we used the chocolate drizzled over the peppermint and then a little more over the chocolate.Outstanding!! I think this will be one of my favorite christmas cookies from now on!!!They are a little hard to shape and drizzle, but you could just make them into balls and press down a little, bake and then peppermint sugar mixture and drizzle with chocolate.Be sure to grind peppermint canes or candy nice and fine.

I just used this recipe for the basic no thrills (no chocolate or candy cane, which I'm sure would make it better, just like the recipe my mom use to make when I was little. So good and incredibly easy to make!!

I have been making these for years. I don't always add the chocolate and peppermint candy. These are always a big hit with children and adults.

I think the flour calculation in this recipe is wrong - I had to add about a half to 3/4 cup more flour to make the dough easy to handle. I also added a tablespoon of almond extract and instead of candy canes and sugar I only added sugar. The taste and the texture was incredible, and once you get the hang of making the actual "canes" it is really fun.

These cookies are so fun/easy to make! The almond extract keeps them being overly sweet and the kids next door fight over who gets to take them to school!

I didn't have any trouble with this dough. My cookies turned out beautiful and tasted great! I did use the chocolate drizzle and I think it added to the beauty of the cookie. It's a keeper for me!

These cookies were great I substituted Splenda for the sugar and they were absolutely fabulous...

These cookies were great fun to make with my son and were even better to eat. I chose to drizzle chocolate for a more festive look to put into my cookie bags for the neighbors.
