As a professional chef, I have tasted many braised lamb dishes. This has to be the best I've ever made (so far. I served this with a mashed potato and parsnip puree and it was to die for. Braising is a foolproof cooking technique that makes this a dish that anyone can make to impress their friends.

This has been a favorite. Made a great holiday dinner and I've used it several times since then. Really good!

This recipe is a fair amount of work - but time well spent. We've served this for guests and they go crazy. If you are looking for something hearty but exotic - this is the recipe!

Outstanding Lamb shanks! Tender but not falling off bone which was perfect. Tasty with excellent gravy. I added, along with the regular seasoning, shallots, onion & garlic powder, 2 packets of Sazon Goya with Culantro and Achiote. I kept tasting throughout for seasoning. When I put it in the oven, I checked every 1/2 hour and would have to add Garlic chicken broth so it wouldn't dry out. One could add water, whatever to one's taste instead. Takes a little time, but worth it. Thank you.

This is a great recipe. I've had friends ask me to make this, several times. Once the prep is done, this is easy to prepare

My wife has made these lamb shanks for guests and received rave reviews. This recipe is a bit time consuming but the results are outstanding. The lamb turns out tender and flavorful, the sauce is great over the lamb, mashed potatoes and even as a dip for bread. It's really quite a find.
