Wonderful pie! The apple softened the taste of the mincemeat and made a wonderful combination. I doubled the Cinnamon and Nutmeg as I prefer a spicier flavor. The previous reviewer's comments were helpful as I mixed the apples and mincemeat together, prior to filling the pie. A new family favorite for the holidays!

While the flavor was good, I had expected the mincemeat to ooze down into the apple slices. It didn't, and I ended up with a two layer pie. If I make it again I will mix the mincemeat into the apple mixture BEFORE putting it into the pie shell.
And the directions (the different temperatures needs to be all in one place in the body of the recipe.
