5 stars for the cookies, but 3 stars for the recipe...

The COOKIES are delicious, with a nice texture. The pineapple and coconut flavors are mild but pleasantly tropical. I enhanced them with about 1 tsp vanilla extract, added with the recipe amount of coconut extract. I got lots of compliments and recipe requests.

The RECIPE is poorly written. Change "mix coconut and pineapple" to "mix IN coconut and pineapple." Preheat the oven after chilling for 2 hours, not when you start the mixer. When would the water be needed? Finally, the cookies spread so excessively that 1/4 cup balls would make a dreadful mess. I used 2 Tbsp balls and barely got a dozen on a standard half-sheet pan. (I still had to cut edges apart on many cookies. Baking time was still about 9 min.
