Our son "tested" this recipe at our house, for a cooking "Throw Down" challenge recently. As we couldn't find canned plums anywhere (! we made our own sauce from canned Asian plum sauce, thinned with Mirin and lime juice. I'm sure the original recipe is better and I will can my own darned plums this summer. However, recipe was stellar!! He won the competition hand's down and we used the extra seared ahi as an appetizer the following night when friends joined us for dinner - it was all rave reviews! Tried baking the wontons, cut into 2" circles and dipped in seasoned butter/oil for 5 minutes in a 350* oven...but the results were adequate both not the heart-stopping fabulous of the original recipe. Give this one a try...great combination of flavors and texture!!

This is great! My husband and I made these for our anniversary and we loved them. I could not find plums so I winged the sauce and used peaches instead. It was phenomenal. Our friend's daughter just graduated from high school and we made these for her party....again a big hit. I had to share the recipe. Next time I will try the plum sauce (I found some and bought them just to make this again. YUM!
