I thought the butter flavored Crisco gave it too much of a greasy taste. Not cookie/cake enough. Too sweet. Did not like it. Would not make them again

I just love fruit cake cookies. Once I gave some to my neighbors all of them wanted me to cook them for christmas. So I made 9 dozen and gave them all away. Thank you for the awesome recipe.

There's no way this recipe could be right. I looked on another site and found the proportions 1 c butter or margerine to TWO boxes of cake mix, 3 eggs, then fruit & nuts. I saw another that had 1/2 c fat to 1 full box of mix. Hope this helps!

Easy to prepare, ingredients can be varied with no problems, and cookies are really chewy and sweet.

Imade these cookies and they turned out terrible. They tasted ok, but the texture was lik dust. They made terrible drop cookies so I finally put all of the dough in a jelly roll pan and baked them as bar cookies. We ended up throwing the entire batch in the trash. Even my husband, who will eat practically anything hated them.

I made this recipe ammended as another reviewer suggested: 1 1/4 c cake mix, 1/2 c brown sugar, 1 egg. I added high quality dried fruit and walnuts, using the traditional fruitcake fruit for decoration only. They made a soft, chewy cookie that we did enjoy (if you like fruitcake, of course. Refridgerating the dough a little before hand is the secret to preventing the cookies from spreading too much. I would recommend doubling if you plan to give these cookies as gifts.

She sells the cookies on her website. Of course she's not going to give out the correct recipe.

The recipe must be full of errors. The butter flavored shortening is just horrible.

After the first batch of cookies ran across the cookie sheet I added the rest of the cake mix, doubled the nuts and fruit and added pumkin pie spice.

Still, the cookies were very crispy and while my husband ate them, they fell apart as you tried to eat them.

This recipe is one to toss.
