Great basic recipe BUT you forgot the potatoes, onions and garlic. A real crowd pleaser!

I am in Wilkesboro n.c., But! I'm from Savannah Ga., and have had some great times with Frogmore Stew.We used basically the same recipe except we probably over did it with Old Bay. We used Hillshire Farms Beef sausange to keep the greese down, making the shrimp easier to peel. Nothing is better around an open fire, roasting oysters, drinking beer (don't put it in the stew, you'll just watch it evaporate eating Frogmore Stew and good friends.

Living in the lowcountry of South Carolina we do these on the weekends during the fall and winter. I like to add a bottle or two of beer to the mix, onions, potato's, and blue crabs... It's a fun meal to have with friends during football, watching the games in the backyard with a fire in our fire pit... Also works well with an oyster roast! Frogmore Stew, Beaufort Stew, Lowcountry Boil, whatever you decide to call it, Cold Beer, Oysters, and a Boil with friends what could be better?

P.S. Save some of the stock and left overs... You can mae an awesome soup the next day!

Frogmore stew is one of the most simple and satisfying meals . I'm a 44 year old guy recently single and love to cook but hate the cleanup . This is and awsum one pot meal . When I do this and have company , its all gone . I eat on it myself for a couple days . Things can be added , small red potatoes , onion , I add bay leaves , some cayenne , butter and garlic .

PS FN needs a singles cooking show!

A couple of times a year we enjoy Frogmore Stew at Steamers on Lady's Island outside of Beaufort,S.C. I do add the new red potatoes, garlic and
onions like Steamers does. BUT definitely add the corn late so not
to overcook. Also, we use kielbasa
sausage. We love it and so easy!
