We made this the other night. It was wonderful, I loved the crispyness of the fish. The lemon was a nice touch. The whole family loved it and it was easy. I picked it because I had everything already.

We really liked this recipe. I was looking for something quick and different and this fit the bill. Amazingly, my 11 & 12 year old kids who aren't even that crazy about fish said over and over how much they liked it. We used both flounder and tilapia and they both worked perfectly. We loved the crispiness of the fish, and sided it with 4 cheese mashed potatoes and steamed broccoli. I served the butter, lemon, caper sauce on the side and I am glad that I did. We all liked it, but a little went a long way. The next time I will only add 1/3 to 1/2 a bottle of capers.

We bought a pack of individually wrapped frozen founder fillet. We tried oven baking and oven fried, but the flounder came out "mushy" or wet. We had to "over" cook it to dry it out so it was in one solid piece. So I Google a frying recipe and found this one. It was so EASY and it taste AWESOME!. Dinner was saved tonight, Thanks to this recipe.

I don't eat much fish and this dish was my first try at flounder. I really like this recipe, a few simple ingredients that work just right together. Except, a whole bottle of capers is insane on its face, try a tablespoon of capers.

Sorry Martha, but I didn't like this flounder dish as much as I wanted because I love fish. The capers overtook the whole dish and I lost something in the overall taste. I don't think I'll try this recipe again, but if I do I'll leave out the capers or not use as much as was called for.

evoo 1tablespoon in a 8in skillet - heat at med while you are getting the other things ready
i got a piece of flounder the size of a big mans palm and about 7inches long
    it wasnt very thick
i crunched some sea salt on both sides and pepper - then i got 1 teaspoon of flour and lightly LIGHTLY coated the fish with my fingers
i flipped and shook it and then did the other side
then i barely sprinkled old bay seasoning on it
since i cant eat fish without fresh spinach - i put four handfuls of spinach leaves in one of those steamer bags for the microwave - I put 1 tablesoon of chopped garlic, 1/2 teaspoon of butter, two scruches of sea salt and two taps of old bay stuck that in the microwave for 2 minutes
    now my skillet is hot
i throw the fish in there
it is sizzling i am dying from anticipation
i wait patiently for 2 min then i flip the fish
i get the other 1/2 teaspoon of butter pat and put that in the skillet
it is lookign good!! the microwave goes off
i poke my fish hmmm ok i flip it one more time and then i go get my spinach and a plate
i slide my fish on the plate - then i add 1 teaspoon of lemon juice to the skillet and rub it all around and pour on top of the fish
then i dump the spinach on the fish
    omg it was so good
i wouldve done the capers if i had them on hand

i am spoosed to be on a low glycemic diet
the teaspoon of flour wasnt good - i need to find some kind of flour to use that isnt enriched
and i know the butter is a nono - i guess i wont lose any weight this week
but i am sure i wont gain any
i used to be really bad
    ok over and out
this was fabulous i prepared and ate in tenminutes

This recipe is outstanding. My son caught a flounder and wanted to try frying instead of the usual broiling so I came to Food Network for instructions. We followed the instructions (salt, pepper, flour, three minutes on each side in an oil and butter combination, then the juice of a lemon and the fillets were cooked perfectly.
