I found this recipe a couple years ago and now, we cannot do a Thanksgiving feast without it! It's a HUGE hit with everyone!

Really, really great recipe. I made this for my family for Christmas and there wasn't a single scoop left.To address other reviewers' concerns about it being "soup-y": my husband and I were worried about the same thing so we decided to prepare it early in the morning and let it harden a bit. We made the batter, put it in a casserole dish, covered it with plastic wrap, and refrigerated it for about 5 hours. We took it out of the refrigerator about 20 minutes before we popped it in the oven. This gave us the perfect consistency- creamy and whipped but not too soup-y. Good luck, I will absolutely make this again!

My favorite side dish from Thanksgiving....thanks! I used 2/3 cup brown sugar and 3/4 stick of butter and still very sweet, but still delicious. Also, used mini marshmallows which browned and melted making the whole dish over the top good!!

I have been making this sweet potato recipe for a few years. I always use white sweet potatoes and use white and brown sugar to taste. My son is away at college and the first thing he said when we were making plans for him to return for the Thanksgiving break was "You ARE making the sweet potatoes right, Mom?" It is a must have on our table for the holiday season.

I gave this a 4, but after I tweaked it, it became a 5. This dish was made for my aunt because she likes the marshmallows on top and this was the first recipe I found with great reviews. However, I felt that this recipe needed something else so I added 1 t of cinnamon and 1/2 t of nutmeg. Well that did it and my aunt and all of my other recipes loved it. I would rather go with the souffle without the marshmallows though. I have already been told to make this for Thanksgiving 2011. So I guess my family really liked this after my tweaks.

We didn't need a dessert with this dish. I added more pecans than the recipe called for and used french vanilla marshmallows. EXCELLENT!
