Sargento does indeed make shredded swiss now, but I can't always find it. Walmart has shredded swiss sometimes too, their brand.

I'd rate this a 5 if it weren't for so much oil. The oil is a turn off. You should spoon off as much as you can and eat this dip quick. The longer it sits the worse it looks.

Someone suggested baking it in a bread bowl and that might be a solution. Please come back and let us know how it worked.

I've made this before and love it, but I think I'll try baking this in a bread bowl, which sometimes helps absorb the excess oil. Has anyone tried this?

People go crazy over this spread whenever I serve it because it is really spectacular! We prefer it with little cocktail rye breads instead of corn chips. I also use a clean paper towel to soak up the excess oil that floats to the top and then it's fine...hot, brown, and bubbly! Let's face it...anything with a high fat content is going to taste great, but just like the others said, you just can't eat a lot of it.

This stuff rocks! Sargento now makes shredded swiss cheese, so making this just got a whole lot easier.

Taste is on point, but it's very oily, so I wouldn't go eating a lot as one person, but great at a party.

Try it with BACONNAISE.. it's really good.. bacon flavored mayonnaise.

This is a quick, easy dip that anyone can make. It was a little oily after baking but I just spooned off all of the excess oil and it was fine!!

The flavor of this dip is really good...IF you can get past the pool of oil. I don't know how anyone could eat this and not go directly into cardiac arrest. If you could bake this and let it sit in a colander for an hour and then sit on a towel for another hour...it would probably be really good.

This dip is awesome! Any time I take this to a party I bring home an empty dish and many requests for the recipe.

This is really simple and everyone, including people that don't like onions, loved it. Served cold with some thin crackers, perfect.

I thought the recipe was really flavorful but I would have to change the amount of mayo and Swiss cheese. When the recipe was hot all the oils floated to the top. I'm not sure the amounts but I'm going to work on it because I really liked it.
