This is the second year I've made this recipe for Christmas, and it was a hit again. This year, I used a sourdough loaf from Disney's California Adventure. The bread was light, chewy, and perfect. I also did a bowl of peaches and another of strawberries, both from the frozen food section and both prepared the same way. They were both delicious. I also added a pinch of cayenne to the pecans for a little surprise and it was great!
I changed the cream cheese recipe up a bit this year. I stuck to the basic recipe, but added cinnamon and maple syrup (both as an accent and as a hint of sweetness. The cream cheese turned out great as well. Overall, this recipe is becoming a Christmas standard!!!

A viewer said she used half and half like Sunny did, but Sunny used heavy cream with cream cheese and sugar. I made it like Sunny except I added a little vanilla flavoring. I also added some vanilla flavoring to the mixture for the French toast too. My French toast recipe has vanilla and I have always loved it in French toast. Otherwise, I did everything else the same and my family loved this dish. We had family visiting and they also loved it. I had to use French bread, but that's what they normally use in New Orleans so I was still okey with the Nawlins theme. My family think that I am such a terrific cook, but it's these terrific recipes that make me look like a rock star in the kitchen. So keep um coming please.

These are the BEST! I can't wait to make these again. Had some company in town and they loved them too. I used Challah bread because my bakery didn't have Brioche. I also used the half and half instead of the milk like Sunny did in the video. SOOOOO Good! Thanks Sunny!

Outstanding and quick!! I always use half & half in place of milk for the french toast but otherwise a fabulous recipe even though i overcooked the sugar in the pecans a bit, my family loved a decadent Wednesday morning breakfast!

This is the best frech toast I have ever had. I've made it several times now and for different groups of people and they ask for it every time. Sunny put the love in this french toast!

I think patricia is a dodo bird! This french toast is freakin delcious, a little sweet but delicious. Why would you write a review on a recipe that you haven't made just because the person doesn't "look" like they're a good cook? The video was edited from the tv show, that's why she made it from items she'd already prepared earlier in the show. Don't be so quick to judge patty!

I just watched the video for this and that woman doesn't seem like much of a cook. Nothing she "cooked" was actually used in the finished plating, it was all done ahead of time. If she knew what she was doing why didn't she use the hot french toast she was cooking? Doesn't look like a bad recipe but I doubt it would be 5 stars.

My family LOVES this recipe. I normally don't care for french toast, but this one is good!

I normally make recipes as is the first time around and then make changes if need be. I will be using less sugar on the strawberries next time, maybe from a 1/2 cup to a 1/3 cup or even a 1/4 cup. Also, we did not like the cream cheese topping. Leave out the cream chees & just make it whipped topping!

Can't wait to make this recipe again!
