I made this salad for a special dinner party and my guests raved for weeks about this salad. The vinaigrette is outrageously wonderful! I would recommend this salad to everyone -- particularly in the fall.

I was really anxious to try this recipe since we love the combination of bleu cheese and pears. Well, we were certainly not disappointed!

I was afraid that the vinaigrette would be a little on the sweet side, but the combination of the vinaigrette with the bleu cheese was really terrific.

There is a lot of prep work, but the end result is definitely worth the effort.

The taste of the salad was excellent if you are a fan of pears and blue cheese like I am! I was looking for a salad similar to one I had tasted in a restaurant in Louisville. I don't mind recipes with lots of ingredients, but this one can prove to be challenging to round everything up in a rural setting! The recipe was confusing in that it stated prep time to be 15 minutes and cook time to be 4hours. I found prep to be longer and cook time I suppose included the time for the dressing to cool sufficiently. Be sure to make this plenty far ahead of your serving time. I thought the recipe worth the trouble for company or an occasional treat for yourself.
