Great meal! Served it with Claire Robinson's hushpuppies. I added less hot sauce to the egg mixture out of fear and used panko instead of italian breadcrumbs and served on field greens. (all minor changes Also, when I saw it on TV the chef added some dry Italian Dressing seasoning to the flour mixture and I did do that. Other than that, followed the recipe exactly and we loved it.
A wonderful hot summer night meal!

I grew up eating fried green tomatoes fried in bacon fat with a cornmeal coating. They were okay, but these are good. I did add some dried Italian dressing to the flour per another viewer. Boy was I glad I did because the seasoning was so good. I guess it's like the wet Italian dressing to marinate something and how much flavor you get. I will definitely be making these again.

I have had this at Louie's and it is wonderful. The only thing missing is the dry Italian dressing in the flour and a little in the bread crumbs. Wunerful, wunnerful!
