This recipe was delicous, and kids love them. But. . . They were kind of hard to bite into. I recommend taking the cookies right out of the oven and making them, Then chill them for about 15 minutes. The cookies got really hard, but had a great flavor. Especially the Bananas.

Made these (a modified version without chocolate on top and added Skor bars inside for Memorial Day and wow were they a hit! Our friends were so impressed at how delicious they were. So simple to make - just remember to freeze them long enough. On a hot day with only freezing them for an hour or two, we had ice cream mush on our hands (but who were we to complain - they were too tasty!. Thanks for another fantastic recipe Giada!

I think this would have been alot better without freezing the cookie. It was so hard when I bit into it I felt I was going to break a tooth. I let it sit a few minutes to thaw out and the bottom was good but the chocolate on top of the cookie is really hard. I am going to try it again but next time without putting the cookies in the freezer. I agree with everyone else that the chocolate chips was too much. Unless you have kids that will take the bananas and dip them in the chocolate.

This treat was simply amazing and simply a hit... I wish I had read the reviews about using less chocolate to melt but I'll just find another use for it! So easy, so quick, so tasty!

This recipe was so good and so easy to make!!! I followed the other reviewers' advice and I only used about 3/4 cup of chocolate chips. To cut down on potential messiness, I had the toffee covered chocolate facing in rather than out.
I let them sit for about 5 minutes before serving to soften. I will make this recipe again and again.

This was a scrumptious treat! I think a whole bag of semi-sweet chocolates is not necessary. Half a bag will do. However, I think setting it up differently would make it that much easier to devour. Instead of freezing the chocolate on the cookie. Freeze the cookie with the bananas and ice cream on top. Then add the chocolate to one of the cookies after the freeze...so the chocolate won't be so hard. But, other than that...it's an excellent dessert!! Kudos Giada!!

First, the amount of chocolate chips in the recipe is far too much--I'd suggest using half the amount.

Second, I'd also suggest that you make these to be served immediately and do not freeze them, otherwise these are very hard and impossible to eat. If anything, I would refrigerate the cookies after topping with the melted chocolate to allow it to set and then allow to come back to room temperature before making the sandwiches and serving. Flavor is excellent though.
