It wasn't bad. I felt like there needed to be more popcorn in the recipe; we ended up tossing another two or three cups of popped corn with the final dish to make it more palatable. I was hoping for a cheddar cheese popcorn taste. This was a rather good Doritos imitation. I also found that it coated well if the butter was tossed with the corn, then the powder was added.

I found this recipe trying to emulate Garrett's popcorn. It has a good flavor, although the cayenne pepper was a little too powerful. I think 1/8 tsp would provide just the right amount of kick without being overpowering. Contrary to the previous comment, I found the mustard complemented the cheese nicely.
I did find that fully coating the popcorn with the butter (stirring well, then mixing the dry ingredients separately and sprinkling the cheese mixture into the popcorn while stirring the popcorn helped distribute the cheese more evenly.
