Excellent!!! And yes they were indeed chewy! I gave this a 5 although I did make a minor adjustment to the recipe- I substituted orange extract for the vanilla- and added about a teaspoon of orange zest- otherwise I followed exactly. SO tasty!!! They were super easy to make and although I didn't have buttermilk on hand, I 'made' my own with regular milk and cream of tartar. I was craving a sweet treat and these totally hit the spot- and then some! Definitely a make again. :

These got better as I worked my way through the dough! Definitely chill before trying to roll these. My oven is a little slow, so I baked for the full 10 minutes...and then a few seconds more. I did drop cookies, not rolled balls or cut as some have done. These will definitely fill my craving for a chewy cookie tonight!

These were the best sugar cookies i have ever had! so easy to make and so chewy, they are great if you dip them in milk!

Fairly good, but better after they sat for several hours. A few minutes out of the oven they tasted more like flour than sugar. My kids like them but I prefer a crispy sugar cookie.

They came out really good.. but they get done fast so its a good idea to keep an eye on them ! Loved them

I like sugary sugar cookies and these were not very sweet at all. I'm surprised that these have a 5 star rating?? Next time, I would add at least a 1/2 cup more sugar. They are chewy though, which is nice!

This is the best sugar cookie recipe I've ever tasted.i used coffee creamer too and they came out better than using the buttermilk.:D

This is now one of my staple cookie recipes. Had to put it in the fridge for a bit first because the dough was too soft but once I baked it off it was perfect :D

These were wonderful cookies. Even with a 7 yr old in charge and a 2 yr old as his helper, these cookies came out great. Just what we wanted as a family activity and a nice Saturday evening treat. I tweaked to correct for the difference in my oven (took a little longer than 10 minutes to get done. They were still nice and chewy. I will always use this recipe for sugar cookies from now on.
