I tried this recipe and found that the flavor was good, and the color was wonderful, but the cake turned out dry. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to make it more moist? More buttermilk perhaps? Email me at uniey76@aol.com

I am a lover of red velvet cake but this recipe produced a dry, odd tasting cake that practically fell apart.

This cake was delicious. It was moist and easy to make. My aunt always made this cake during the holidays. This recipe brought back great memories and raves from Family and friends on Christmas. They loved this and your spicy carrot cake A+++++. I feel like a real chef!

This is my favorite, and, I consider, original red velvet cake recipe. For the frosting, I use 5 tbs flour and a can of evaporated milk for a single recipe. However, when I make this cake, I bake it in 3 8" round pans and make a double recipe of frosting. Simply delicious. I've been making it for years and no longer use cake flour and just mix all the ingredients together except for the baking soda and vinegar, which I mix together separately and fold into batter last.

the cake was ok...mine turned out to be a pink velvet cake though. The cooking time was not accurate at least for me and it was really messy. I do have to admit that it tastes good but i would not make it again
