I made this for my sister's birthday. Everyone made a face after taking the first bite. It was super dry. They were begging for milk.

I made this for the first time last week and it was so easy and turned out perfectly. I used all-purpose flour, which worked fine. I served it with an easy raspberry sauce (1 pint of raspberries, 1 cup sugar, 2 cups water, boiled together and reduced by half and it was so good. Those who say the cake is too dry had to have done something wrong. I will make this again!

Baked this cake last night for dinner and my family chumped this cake down like it was no tomorrow. What an easy quick cake recipe. This cake is like eating pototoe chips, can't just eat one slice, always looking for more. Love Gale's receipes, they are always right on and wonderful to enjoy.Glad that you are part of the Foodnetwork. Question: why are'nt you on TV earlier so that day people can watch you at a decent hour instead of 4:30AM. Most people are sleeping at that time.

The cake turned out moist and light. The recipe was super easy. This will be my go-to chocolate cake recipe now. One note though, you must grease and flour the Bundt pan very well. I used a heavy-duty non-stick pan and dusted it in the usual way, thinking that was enough. Nope.

This simple chocolate cake is very satisfying! Tastes like the cookie part of an oreo. I only had a little cake flour, so I used mostly AP flour and it was perfect. I used Hershey's Special Dark Dutch cocoa and it was SUPER DARK and delish! Great by itself but even better with ice cream. Some reviewers said it was dry; I found it to be only a little moist but that's how it's supposed to be - it's NOT a boxed cake mix type of cake.

I don't have bundt pan so I made this cake as a 2-layered cake and it turned out great!!! It was so light and rich at the same time, it was incredible. I use a cream cheese frosting from Ina Garten (that I modified a bit to taste cause I didn't want it too sweet and.. OMG it was sooo good! Definitely this recipe is a keeper. My friends really liked it.

The cake is amazing - so light and yet so chocolatey rich! I used the wrong pan size though and I thought it would take forever for the cake to bake - almost twice the reccommended baking time - but it was well worth the wait!
