I really liked this recipe. I did add some cinnamon and vanilla for flavor, but other than that, it's great, and healthier than others.

I also found that the cookies were not as they appear to be in the above picture, but mine did come close as they had a very crispy outside and soft inside. I did add peacans and cranberries into the mix and a homemade cranberry jam as a side. This is one that's going into the recipe box!

I originally found this recipe on another website that credited this one. The only difference was it called for 1/2 cup whole wheat flour, rather than white flour. I was surprised when I came to find the original recipe and saw the photo- I agree that this is not an accurate depiction of these chewy, fat cookies. However, I thought they were pretty good (with the whole wheat flour and a nice lunchbox treat for my son. I used a cookie scoop and it only made 1 1/2 dozen, next time I will double it.

I made these and added cinammon and nutmeg. I was looking for a healthier alternative and mine were crunchy... nothing like the picture at all. THe pic makes it looks like they are going to cook thin and crispy which did not happen. In the last two minutes, I hit the "broil" function because the tops did not look cooked while the rest of the cookie was starting to brown up around the edges. THis recipe is a dud.

....this is just a weird recipe....I tweaked it between each batch (of 6 hoping for that flat/crisp result in the picture. I added more liquid/butter/flour/oatmeal, etc., etc....but nothing I tried made any difference in the final product - the last batch even came out looking like little oatmeal towers...(now I think it's the proportion of the egg to the other ingredients but I'll never know cuz I'm not making them again!.....Alton!...help!

I made the recipe with the alterations same alterations another reviewer made, by /3 cup honey (instead of 1/4 & 1/4 tsp salt (instead of 1/2 tsp. I also added in crasins (pre-soaked in hot water & drained. I didn't like them at all. Next time I make a different recipe, I would add more sugar and eliminate the salt and I would probably add in a little more water and an extra egg. The recipe did not come close to making 30 cookies.

My cookies turned out perfect... I don't know what all the fuss is about!! They were crispy on the bottom and chewey inside, super sweet. The honey gave it a "different" flavor. I also added white chocolate chips... that made the cookie even better. I think this cookie is a healthier alternative to traditional baked goods with sticks of butter and cups of sugar in them.

These are the worst oatmeal cookies I've ever eaten. They are flat tasting, even after I added vanilla and some cinnamon. They aren't sweet like a cookie should be, and they crumble too easily. They didn't look ANYTHING like the picture. This is DEFINITELY a looser!
