Please review the direction of this recipe. I started in a saucepan on high (as instructed and it almost boiled over. I then put the mixture in my large soup pot (still on high as the directions do not say to reduce heat. It burned terribly and didn't even make it to 310. I'd love some insight.

I made these for my wife when she was in labor. She loved them better then those "dum-dum" suckers they gave her. If you use a medium sucker mold, each one will last about an hour.
