I really liked this recipe, I added more cocoa powder though, it depends on how sweet you want it.

I liked this cake a lot. I too did not use the coconut, more because I didn't have any on hand than a dislike of coconut.
WARNING: 1 hour and 15 minutes bake time is too much! Check the cake yourself with a toothpick at about 45 minutes.
The marbling didn't really come out how i wanted.. more of just a glob in the middle. So be sure to do a lot of poking with the knife.

I had high hopes for this cake. However it turned out not just bad, but awful. It was dry, bland and was not sweet at all. The best part was the chocolate glaze I poured over it which was a recipe I already had.

I have been making this cake for awhile now and I love it! I don't care much about the chocolate part, so I make it without the Cocoa powder! It's just amazing! Everybody asks me to make it whenever there is an event!
For those who find it "dry", it might be because they didn't mix it for the full 5 minutes. It's really important. I start timing it after I put all the flour and milk in.
I don't put any icing or anything on it. It's so great just by itself!

I made this twice. The batter before baking tasted really really good, but after baking , it lacked flavor and sweetness. I tried a 3rd time and did different stuff to it. Much better! Play around with the recipie, as It has potential to be a good cake.

It wasn't bad, but the chocolate batter portion was much more flavorful, with the 'vanilla' being a bit plain. It might be better with more coconut and/or some type of icing.

I enjoyd making this cake, was sooo easy. I did have an issue with the time allowd, causing it to dry out a little. Definetly go by your own oven. Otherwise it was good. If you dont like coconut, leave it out. I used it and it was good.
