I made these cookies and I tasted the dough before I rolled it out... decided it needed some sugar, so I added about 1/2 cup. I added more sweetness by rolling the dough in icing sugar instead of flour, and I added a bit of almond extract to the beaten eggwhite for flavoring. I might add some vanilla or something to the dough next time, this is pretty much a blank slate recipe, you could dress it up however you want flavor-wise.... you could add peppermint or almond or even lemon if you wanted. The cookies turned out very pretty and my family loved them. Will make them again.

I have made these cookies twice now and love the way they look and taste. The one tip I have is to use 3 m&m's for the center, it helps hold the dough down better after being baked. Will be making this cookie again and again.

I made these cookies for a cookie exchange, and ended up throwing them in the trash before I was finished baking the whole recipe. Very misleading difficulty level. Should be listed as very difficult, simply because there are so many steps. The worst part, they taste horrible. My nine year old thought I was playing a joke on him! They should pull this recipe off the network. If you are reading this, you have been warned!

This is one of my favorite cookie ideas. I use star shapes for 4th of July, hearts for Valentines Day, ovals for Easter eggs, etc. Everyone loves them. They taste great and design wise, you are only limited by your imagination. Have fun.

I used a regular sugar cookie recipe from Alton Brown and made the pinwheels out of the sugar cookie recipe instead. They turned out beautiful but the candies cracked a little.

these cookies were easy to make but had absolutly no taste at all. I had to discard all of my cookies and used a recipe of my own for the cookies. Everyone really enjoyed them after used my own recipe and raved about how they looked

I read the reviews and felt that I could tweek the cookies since I'm not a bad cook. I really wanted something different & something festive so I gave these a shot. I went ahead and added 1/2 cup of sugar to the batter. Otherwise I followed the directions pretty well. I also used a bit more colored sugar on top. The end result to me was I enjoyed them. I felt that the smaller amount of sugar helped the cream cheese flavor. I also am at a higher elevation and used a airpan which fluffed them a bit. Very pretty and festive. I will do them again, but add a bit more cream cheese. Love the difference in flavor.

I did not get a stiff dough, I got a crumbly dough that I could not roll out and had to throw out. I was very disappointed and hope that the recipe was in error and can be fixed.

I bake a lot during the holidays and saw this and had to try it. I was concerned a little about the difficulty but it was not a problem. The problem I see with this recipe is that there is NO sugar in the cookie dough. The only sugar is the red you sprinkle on the top. I would like to try this recipe with more of a traditional sugar cookie recipe so the cookies have flavor. The dough also became a bit puffy which took longer to bake than the time suggested. I also couldn't find popsicle sticks so I used 6 in. bamboo skewers and they held the cookies just fine. These cookies are real showy, and pretty simple if you are looking to impress your friends!

This cookie is very nice looking...but that is where the good ends. The cookie taste like playdo with sugar sprinkled on it. It also took a long time if you want them to look near perfect. Not good for the kids to help with unless it is to put the M&M on. As I do have my culinary degree I should have known by looking at the recipe that it would taste so bad. Find another recipe for rolled sugar cookies and make the Poinsettia design.
