Super easy and just delicious! The most requested icing from my friends. Ten times better than the gunk that is slathered all over a store bought cake, that's for sure:-

This definitely my new favorite quick buttercream! Not as grainy and sugary as most other non-cooked icings. @Snotsmom - I double it and get about 6 cups, enough to fill and ice a small 2 tier but, you may want more if you are using it for elaborate decorations!

HELP! I am making a two-tier birthday cake and looking for a good buttercream recipe. Those of you who have made this recipe, approximatly how much frosting does this recipe yield?

This is the best vanilla buttercream I've made, and I've experimented with more than a few recipes. I made a batch earlier this week (using 1 stick unsalted and 1 stick salted butter. I let the sticks sit out long enough so that by the time I got everything thoroughly mixed, I never had to use the cream to get the right consistency. This one is definitely my go-to frosting!
