This Tea Cake is so GOOD!!! I only make it a few times a year when the Tangerines from my tree are in season. I bake two smaller loaves, instead of one large. I don't have a pan big enough to fit all of the batter, and not have it overflow out of the pan. A bundt cake would work great too! I think adding icing might be great, but this cake is sweet enough already! I wrap leftovers in plastic wrap, then into a zipper bag it goes, and into the fridge. Since I bake two smaller loaves, I'll make a bit more of the glaze to soak into the cakes.

I found this recipe good, but not spectacular. I am going to try and add an icing to the top to try and provide more moisture and richness to the dish. I would also suggest baking this as more than one cake, as from the other reviews as well, it sounds like to has a tendency to brown more on the top and cook less inside. Another option might be to decrease the baking temp.

I tried this recipe today. The center was totally raw and the loaf caved in when I inverted it. Any ideas why this would happen? When tested the center came out clean, the top was nicely browned. It is supposed to be dense? Mine was pretty airy. Maybe too much liquid?

I just tried this recipe for the first time today and it's amazing! I added a drop of orange extract to the batter and didn't use any of the lemon. It was especially delicious with a good cup of coffee. I will use this recipe for many years to come!

I thought the cake tasted good but it definitely was not the wow that I was expecting. I baked them as 6 minis instead of one big one. Everyone liked it but they there were no requests for more. I liked it but it wouldn't be something I bake again any time soon. It was kinda like a a pound cake with orange flavor. So basically it was good but not great.

Very moist sweet bread, bursting with orange flavor. I made 1 large loaf and 2 mini loaves with the batter. Will make again, great recipe.

This is delicious. The first time I made it though, it overflowed the pan. But the taste was worth it. The next time I split it up into smaller pans and it came out perfect. It's like a pound cake but the tangerine glaze gives it a great flavor. Might consider leaving out the panko flakes though, because I left them out the 2nd time and it didn't make much of a difference.

I have made this several times when tangerines are in peak season. My last batch had extra tangerine juice (no lemon on hand and baked in a 9" round. With peels decorating the cake, it was delicious. A keeper for your recipe box, not to be shared when others inquire.
