I never liked oatmeal as a kid but while trying to lose weight I need to try new dishes that are healthy. Well, I got some steel cut oats from Whole Foods, chopped walnuts, heavy whipping cream and golden raisis and boy was this DELICIOUS! I don't like soupy oatmeal but if you add the apple juice I'm sure it makes it even tastier but apple juice has a lot of sugar and isn't necessary to make the recipe delicious. Considering that you ad brown sugar you don't need more sugar by adding apple juice. Add fat free organic milk and it is a little less rich and smoother. But I like my oatmeal firm. Definitely add some chopped walnuts! HOW CAN SOMETHING THIS HEALTHY TASTE THIS GOOD?

I enjoy creating new things, and this sounds great. I need to find steel-cut oatmeal first, but will look around.

you don't need to waste time whipping the cream, just use it straight.

This oatmeal is fabulous! It's creamy and filling and comforting, and the cinnamon/brown sugar whipped cream is sweet and delicious. It's just the right mix of flavors, and sooo worth the wait of the cooking time. I sprinkled some fresh ground nutmeg on top of the whipped cream. A lovely autumn treat! Try this oatmeal; it's great! Thank you, Gale!
