Fantastic, if only I could find the paper molds! I'm making them in other containers like souffle molds. I just finished making this for the upteenth time, it is great.
I think the best fruit to use is a combo of dried apricots and cranberries or cherries.
Found the paper molds, after x-mas. If you want the molds, you have to order way before the holidays or directly after. It's well worth the effort, and you can always freeze whites.

This is very much like the Eastern European bread, Paska, consumed around Easter. I’ve made a variation of it every year since I discovered this recipe. Thanks Gale.

This was really fun to make, but I need to try this again, I did something wrong. It did not rise properly so, although yummy, more like a traditional fruit cake (dense and heavy than the light bread it should be. My 10 year old KitchenAid stand mixer died while kneading the dough so I had to finish by hand.

I did find the pannetone paper molds at Amazon - Large Panettone Paper Mold, Set of 6", $8.69

This recipe is very similar to Russian Paskha, which I make every year for Easter. To get the desire shape I use empty cans, which I lay with parchment paper. And you don?t even have to spray them ? the cake comes out very easy.
It?s a very rich and tasty cake and it?s definitely worth the effort.

This was excellent, thank you so much for this recipe this is now our standard recipe for our Christmas Eve Panettone, I just changed it a little, I couldn?t find any candied citron or candied orange peel so I added plumped raisins and orange zest. It came out so delicious that I think I?ll just keep it with the raisins and orange zest. My family said it was off the hook delicious, and believe me they?re not easily impressed. This will be one of those wonderful family heirloom recipes that I will treasure for years to come, let?s hope the kids will continue the traditions of all the memories I hope I?m making for them with the wonderful foods brought to the table, and this memory we can thank you for.
