I know the chocolate should be above 60% cocoa, but is it sweetened or unsweetened? Can this be used with white chocolate too?

Well considering I was pretty excited to try this recipe it failed 3 times and I finally gave up. The recipe is most definitely incorrect and people should beware. The way it was described once the chocolate was melted you add the melted chocolate to the heavy cream that was scorched well that cause over-degradation and the chocolate separated into its too components. If you do not melt the chocolate and just slowly add heavy cream it causes the chocolate to melt and no need to heat the chocolate at all and looks great. I did that and it came out very nicely. Unfortunately this mixture is not made for truffles so I feel like I wasted $20 of godiva chocolate for no reason. No thanks 5 ingredient fix!!!!
I did this again and added a half stick of butter which is going to make the chocolate hard and it worked for the truffles.

I can't wait to try the recipes from this episode. I usually don't post reviews before trying the recipe, but you can't miss with this. Gerhard was so straightforward and provided so many great ideas. I feel like I was treated to a free master pastry class.

I've used this recipe and it's so easy and absolutely yummy! The chocolate you use definitely makes a difference. Quality chocolate yields quality ganache! And it has been a huge hit when I used it to fill some chocolate cups for a birthday party. I added some nuts in some of the cups, some toffee pieces in another and some were plain. This recipe is a keeper!!

You can find the chocolate cups at most major grocery stores (kroger, Meijers, GFS, etc.; or check out SeattleChocolates.com for dessert shells. I haven't tried this recipe yet; just answering a viewer; thus the rating.

Does anyone know where I can find the pre-made chocolate candy cups? All of the recipes from this show are incredibly easy and I'd like to try to make the truffles and the candy cups, but have no idea where to purchase the pre-made cups.
Thanks!

The person who wanted examples of all the different things made from the ganache must not have watched the whole show because they did show examples of many desserts made with the ganache. Why not watch the whole show (and maybe try the recipe before posting a review. Anyway, a great show and I so enjoyed Keegan after watching him for many years as the host of the Food Network Challenges. Maybe he should have his own show - I would watch it! G from KC
