I made this last night for dinner w friends. Everyone loved it. They were crispy & the garlic was roasted. I added more garlic, of course :. Even my daughter liked it, she picked out garlic(and gave it to me-SCORE!but ate the potatoe. It was easy and pretty. I didn't make sour cream. It didnt seem to need it. YUMMY! Thanks Sunny!!!

This recipe was so easy and full of flavor. My husband loved it. My picky 2 year old asked for more. I will make this again. I prefer this to baked potato.

These potatoes are fantastic! Very easy, and so tasty. The herbed sour cream make the dish. This recipe is a keeper. Enjoy.

This is a great potato, however, I've seen a similar recipe in a grilling cookbook I have and use frequently. Same process, only you slice an onion very thinly and place it in between the slices, drizzle seasoned butter (garlic, parsley, salt, pepper, paprika over the top. Do this all on a piece of aluminum foil, wrap it up and grill 350 for about 1/2 hour. Impressive. The potatoes don't "shrivel" up. Hhhm, sprinkle the finished potato with some cheddar cheese or asiago cheese!

These were truly amazing. I suggest using a little more garlic and not make the slices super thin. I cut mine a little thicker then Sunny did and really packed like 4-5 slices per potato. I also added a little sliced chive to the herb sour cream and it added a nice touch. Possibly my new favorite potato recipe.

These potatos were great and the recipe is super simple! I put garlic and shallots as other reviewers suggested and it was great. The shallots crisp up deliciously! I think my garlic slices were too thick so I'll cut it thinner next time. The herbed sour cream really ties the entire dish together. if you just do the potato then it's kind of plain. Don't skip the herbed sour cream. I will def make this recipe for my next dinner party!

I love readers who leave tried and true suggestions because after reading through several comments I decided to add some thinly sliced shallots and dust the potatoes with seasoned flour. Most definitely both added to a great original. These were gobbled up by friends and I. I did a cilantro, garlic, shallot and lime sour-cream concoction because that's what I had on hand. Great recipe, Sunny! And thanks to the readers who helped inspire me in becoming more creative.

I made this bistro dinner this evening, along with the potatoes, and it was SO good! The potatoes got kind of crispy around the edges and had such a good flavor, and the herbed sour cream just MADE it. And speaking of bistro dinners, these potatoes would go so nicely with a grilled filet mignon. I am going to try that soon! Sunny, you ROCK!
