I made this today exactly as the recipe was written but I forgor the cheese at the end and NO ONE MISSED IT! I went perfectly with the first delmonico steaks from our steer this year. My husband raved about it. I have some leftover because it is just the two of us. I think I am going to add the leftover steak and grilled onions to it later in the week for a quick leftover meal! Keep the recipes coming Melissa.

I was planning on trying this anyways, and then I found out that my MIL was coming into town with her friends. Thankfully, she is a wonderful person, but I was still nervous. So I bravely tried all 3 dishes from Italian 101, and they all came out wonderful!

I did have a small problem with this recipe, because I found out later that I forgot to add the red wine vinegar (I was a little stressed with having company over, so it was a little bland, but it went really nicely with the rest of the meal. I served it luke warm, which worked for a summer salad, and I doubled everything so there would be leftovers.

Next time i will make it with all the ingredients and maybe add some butter as recommended.

I found the pasta and broccoli had a yummy garlic flavor but was too dry. I had to add more olive oil. The taste did not come together until I added a tbsp of butter. Then it was wonderful.

As I watched this episode this morning I realized I had all the ingredients and would not need a trip to the grocery store. I read all the posted comments and wasn't expecting much from this recipe. I was plesently surprised! I followed the recipe with one slight modification. After I infused the olive oil with the garlic and red pepper flakes I added one tabblespoon of butter before adding all the remaining ingredients.

Really enjoyed this and will definately make it again. I think it would be good too with some added roasted chicken.

    Thanks Melissa it's a keeper!!

The heat from the red pepper flakes was just right, but it needed something more to contrast the bland pasta. Maybe a little chicken broth instead of the water and perhaps balsamic vinegar instead of red wine vinegar?

Wanted to love this Melissa (it looked so yummy when you made it but there didn't seem to be enough sauce. The pasta tasted kinda plain. How about lemon instead of the red wine vinegar? Since we were using it for the pork anyway, we squeezed it over the pasta/broccoli.
