One of the few recipes I have found that can not be improved on. The deep rich, comfort food flavor will leave you warm and toasty on the inside. The complexity of flavors will make your mouth dance! Perfect in every way.

A wonderful recipe that is clearly the result of many iterations to get it this perfect. Make this EXACTLY as described first. It has such a rich, robust and earthy tomato and meat flavour that it will be memorable to all you serve it to. Chef Zakarian is a wizard and his recipe is exactly what you would expect from him. Well done, sir!

I made this today for my son. I had to leave out the Porcini mushrooms because my son does not like mushrooms of any kind. Otherwise I followed the recipe exactly. It was delicious. I served it over tortellini for my son and husband and whole wheat penne for myself. This sauce is delicious. Next time I will include the mushrooms and not tell anyone.

I have been searching for the ultimate Bolognese sauce for years. I have tried them all - Martha, Emeril, Tyler, Rachel, Lidia Bastianich and about a half a dozen more. This sauce stands out as far superior. It has the most unbelievable depth of flavor. I like a little bit of rosemary in my Bolognese so I added about a teaspoon of fresh rosemary. This recipe calls for thyme and basil as well so I used all three. Absolutely incredible. I have no reason to make any other Bolognese again. My husband and daughter said this is the best sauce I have ever made.

Food Network has been our main source for great recipes and entertainment for years. And like the last reviewer, I too finally signed up because of this recipe.
The rich depth of flavor of this Bolognese is unbelievable. You'll be stunned that a sauce this incredible can be achieved in your own kitchen.
Adding the cheese rinds during the simmering process was key. I also soaked the porcini mushrooms in one of the cups of chicken stock, and reserved it to be added with the liquids. I've made this with Italian turkey sausage plus ground turkey for those that want it, and it's still too good.
A million thanks to Chef Zakarian for sharing this with us.

My mouth literally watered when watching Geoffrey making this dish. I looked at my husband, and he was having the same reaction. He said you need to make that. I couldn't have agreed more. I actually signed up today so I could leave this review. Thanks Geoffrey for sharing the best thing you have ever made, as now it is the best thing I have ever made as well. It does take some time to make, which is why it is a perfect Sunday dinner dish!
I can't wait for more recipes from Geoffrey!
