Ingredients

2 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, room temperature
1 1/2 cups brown sugar
1/2 cup sugar
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups (12-ounce package) chocolate chips

Directions

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.

Line baking sheets with parchment or silicone baking sheets or spray cookie sheets with nonstick cooking spray.

Put the flour, baking soda, and salt into a bowl and stir it with a whisk to combine. Set aside.

Using a hand or stand mixer, beat the butter until it is lighter in color. Slowly add in sugars and beat until it is light and fluffy. Add the eggs 1 at a time and beat until they are incorporated. Stir in the vanilla. Add the flour mixture using low speed, then stir in the chocolate chips. Drop by heaping tablespoonfuls about 2 inches apart onto the prepared baking sheets. Bake until the cookies are lightly browned around the edges, about 12 to 15 minutes. Let the cookies cool for a few minutes and then transfer them to wire racks to cool completely.

I was skeptical that this would be the "best" chocolate chip cookie recipe I'd ever tried. It turns out that this actually is... a fantastic cookie recipe. It's simple. It tastes great. Best of all the cookie I tried on the day I made it retained the same consistency and ratio of crunch to soft a few days later when I ate the last cookie. It's nicely balanced and doesn't get hard or mushy... if they last that long.Read more

Love these cookies!

So good! They come out flat, crispy on the outside, soft and chewy in middle,, the best! The trick to making them come out... like they do in the picture is to leave them in for 1 min more. I made 2 trays of cookies and one tray I made 3 cookies to big, and they were not cooked all the way. The other 3 were just brown around the etdges. I just through the tray back in for another minute or two and they 3 that were just brown were a dark brown like in the picture, but they were not burnt. There is alot of butter in the recipe,, to me,,, but I don't make homemade cookies alot. Read more

These cookies are alright and I used 1 cup white chocolate chips and 1 cup milk chocolate chips. It gave them a little bit... more flavor and was good. I also decreased time to 11 mins so that they woudn't burn.Read more

This was my first time ever, baking cooking from scratch. Not only it was easy to make, but turned out pretty god! I was... impressed with myself! Lots of flavor! What I like most about this recipe, is that it is basic and I can add whatever I like: Whit and dark chocolate chips, nuts, peanut butter and even cinnamon . I'll be making these again and again, but with a bit less sugar.Read more

Not the best ever Chocolate chip cookies

They weren't bad..but not as good as the Nestle Toll House recipe you get on the back of the bag..This recipe has about 1/4 C... too much flour which gives it a dryer consistancy. Ok, but still, not the best. I'll stick to Nestles recipe until I do find the best. ;)Read more
