These are by far the best cookies I've ever made, I bring them to work and give to friends otherwise I would eat them all by myself. I made one change the second time I made them and instead of 1 1/2 Cups of light brown sugar I used a 1/2 cup of dark brown. These cookies came out very flat and crispy and were delicious too. Love them!

Deeelicious! You bite with a crunch and once your teeth hit the center you then get the chewy; oh so good. I tested with the light and dark brown sugars and did notice a little difference. It's a matter of individual preference.. I suggest one test by tasting when warm and also once room temperature. Personally, I like the dark brown sugar the best because it gives the cookie a slightly richer flavor.

I've noticed some comments about the cookie being too flat. If your butter is too soft or even a little runny, that will make the cookie flat.

The recipe is a good one, but they can come out flat. You can do something simple to ensure a beautiful, puffy cookie that's crunchy on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside... your dough and trays should be ice cold before they go into a hot oven! Pauline@thebettercrumb.

Not very good. Very thin and disappointing. The title was very misleading, these were NOT the best chocolate chip cookies I have ever had, not even close. In fact, they were probably the worst cookies I have ever had in my life. They brought back very painful memories of my past, from which I may never recover. Step up your game food network. #disappointed.

The first time I made these I followed the recipe exactly and they turned out way too dense but the flavor was really good. Second time around I cut out half a cup of flour and added just a bit of extra vanilla. I also dropped the oven temp by 50 degrees and shortened the cook time but that may just be my poor old ovens fault. They turned out amazing! Good recipe but I thought it needed some adjustment.
