I made this for my mom's b-day dinner with a spiral ham and it was great! Everyone raved about it and it's great as leftovers. I used sweet turkey sausage instead and it was delicious!

I agree, the type of cornbread you use makes all the difference. The first time I used Bristol Farms and it was sweet and very moist. The second time I used Trader Joes and it was very dry so the stuffing ended up being dry as a result. Next time I will use Bristol's version because it made for the best stuffing I've ever had!

I liked the hot italian sausage in this stuffing however my family hasn't cobbled up the leftover stuffing as quickly as they usually do. Next year I will go back to the traditional sage stuffing however I will add the hot italian sausage to it.

Not sure why my review is so different than the others? I couldn't find corn muffins in my local markets (I tried 3 just before Thanksgiving, so I made homemade cornbread. Maybe that was the problem. It was not a sweet cornbread and the results were truley bad. Barely anyone ate it and I threw it away. Perhaps sweeter cornbread is the secret

this recipe was easy and came out perfect..except that it was crazy sweet because of the corn muffins I purchased. that's the only tip I would suggest is to be cautious of the muffins you buy and I used 6 smaller muffins instead of 4 large one and the consistancy was perfect!

I wouldn't say that it was the world's best stuffing I had, however I do say that the stuffing turned out very good and very moist. It had a lot of flavor, but that was because I tweeked it a bit and added my own seasonings. It was a great starter and a change of pace to all the other stuffings I have had.

I agree. This is the world's best corn bread stuffing. The Italian sausage is the trick here. Brilliant! Very flavorful.

Not being a fan of cornbread stuffing I was pleasantly surprised at how great this stuffing was. I made it without a trial run for Thanksgiving this year and I had to threaten my husband to keep him out of it after giving him a small taste before dinner.
I did use sweet sausage in place of the hot and it tasted great. My husband commented that if more veggies were added the stuffing would make meal in itself. This has become the only stuffing in our house.

I used Jimmy Dean Hot Sausage instead of italian sausage. My family loved the stuffing.
