Similar, but much better than lasgna. the eggplant is the secret. Slice eggplant in 1/4"=1/3" slices not 1/2", because you will need a sharp knife to cut it.

Cooked this dish for a large family gathering in another state. Twenty six family members showed up. Some are older with health problems. The dish was a complete success. I got raves all day long. One younger member liked it but had a problem with the texture. However, he loved the taste. This dish is worth the time and effort taken to prepare it properly. It's health benefits are outstanding for a diabetic meal regimen. Start to finish was two hours. We made thirty rolls.

I didn't really like this. Nor did my husband or daughter.
Had we liked it, the prep would have been justified. However, I felt it took too long to prepare. It was bland and tasteless.
I will not make this again.

I dont know if it's the way I cooked it, but it was lacking flavor. I ended up with not-so-perfect slices of eggplant, then having to make it into a lasagne because the slices were too thick. It was ok, but I don't think I'll make it again.

This is the easiest and best ever way to prepare eggplant. Even reheated in the microwave can't hurt the yummy taste and texture of this dish.
