It's the greatest invention since atkins. It's sweet and chocolatey and satisfies any sweet tooth.

Soy flour (ground uncooked soybeans has a strong soy taste and will make nasty brownies.

Soy POWDER, made from cooked soybeans, has little or no aftertaste. These brownies, made with soy powder, are terrific.

Someone goofed while writing down this recipe!

I should have read the reviews before trying this recipe. I baked for 35 mins. and the brownies turned out too dry. I think the soy gives them a bitter taste so I doubt I'll try making them again. If you are craving chocolate, you are better off with one Hersey kiss.

Well, I got them moist by cookng them 5-7 minutes less than the recipe calls for. They were not bitter, but they just weren't right. They were ok, but they were not sweet enough and they had a little of that funny soy taste. The frosting was great!! The week after I made these, I bought some low-carb browinies in a box that were very good. This week I am baking the boxed brownies, adding walnuts and using this frosting. That should be most excellent :

Two stars for the brownies but 5 for the frosting! They weren't so bad that we couldn't eat them, but they were a dissapointment. I made them several days ago and we are still working on them. I have them in the frig because of the frosing. So, we warm them in the microwave. They are good warmed so the frosting melts (like hot fudge with low carb vanilla ice cream! I do know I baked them too long which dried them out. The recipe warned me about that and I goofed. Soy flour is really yucky and bitter, I may try addinig a little more Splenda if I ever make them again. The low carb mixes that are on the market are better, less expensive and take a whole lot less time and effort. I will definitely use the frosting recipe again.
