This is the BEST chili I have ever had..I used ground sirloin and added some extra chicken broth and upped the amount of black beans. I will never make the standard chili with kidney beans I grew up with again..I never liked kidney beans in the first place; the black beans aren't as "mealy" for me...the seasonings are perfect! Try making Emeril's "Kickin' Chili Tamale Pie" with this recipe for your leftover chili..great way to stretch a dollar.

Took other readers advice, used 1/2 the meat. I added more beans and added a little more spices. You can also use canned tomatoes instead of the fresh tomatoes, and other type of beans. This is a very quick chili that tastes great.

The right balance of flavors and spices...used meatloaf mix rather than all beef.

Since starting a low carb lifestyle this has become a favorite! I too use canned tomatoes. I use fresh ground chuck roast, not just hamburg meat. It's worth the little extra money.

I was expecting something with a lot more broth. Like everyone else has said, this really just leaves you with a bowl of ground beef with a tiny amount of vegetables. I will probably try this again sometime and amp up the peppers and tomatoes. I'm doing south beach and substituted ground sirloin for ground chuck and it still tasted very good.

This was horrible! I can still taste the sour after taste.

George Stella is our "new best friend". George is always thinking of our health and what's best for us.

This Southwestern Chili Con Carne is only one example of George's genius.

The choice of Chuck over other meat is a sign of George's touch of class, and the colorful peppers are another example of George's flair for cooking. He always makes the dishes colorful, healthful and a real treat. We never feel like we're missing something with George's recipes.

You've done it again, George! Wish we could see more of you! So many of us really need your healthy recipes.

This is the easiest recipe when you're in the mood for some spice. I serve it on top of a spring mix salad with tortilla chips and Mexican cheese. It has become a staple in my home.

A hit at the bbq, with great flavors. But I'm not a fan of the ground chuck. Uninteresting. perhaps cubed would be better. Once again, great flavors.
