We had Miso Soup last night for dinner, & had leftover firm tofu. Well, I rarely use tofu & we are out of Yogurt for smoothies so I used this recipe & I was AMAZED! I've made a "smoothie" with frozen strawberries & vanilla ice cream before & I didn't like it that much it was waay too rich & just tasted weird. I cannot believe that tofu is the secret! It's light, but creamy! The only thing is my older daughter (3 hates bananas & thought I snuck some banana in there so she didn't like it as much, but my younger daughter drank hers, and some of mine!
MY ingredients: Froz. Strawberries, Peaches, Milk, Vanilla, Sugar, Tofu, (wish I had mint! My usual smoothie: 1 Yogurt (vanilla or any flavor, frozen fruit, & juice SO delicious & healthy!

Definitely adding this to my recipe box, and will be making it again!
My fiance and I love smoothies, and he is one of the few guys I know who doesn't mind tofu. I made this for breakfast, and we were so pleased! I ended up substituting a few ingredients: didn't have cream so I used a splash of 2% milk and 2 tablespoons of vanilla ice cream, frozen mixed berries instead of strawberries, and a tablespoon of sugar since I didn't have a sugar substitute on hand. And I'm out of vanilla extract. lol It tasted fantastic. We love oatmeal in our smoothies, because they make them very filling, so I might try adding that when I make this for breakfast. However, I was really surprised and happy with how light and refreshing this was, so we'll see.

Very nice exactly as written. I usually follow the recipe then if I like it I change it to my taste. This recipe is a winner and I wouldn't change anything!

My kids, hubby & I loved this! My husband claims he hates tofu... well, guess what? He didn't even know it was in there! I did substitute sugar (same measure for splenda.

Quarter cup of Splenda is too much - 1/8 cup is more than plenty, as the strawberries are sweet. For a low calorie diet, the cream can be eliminated without being substituted with water or anything else, since the tofu does the job of thickening. Tofu smoothie is a great idea that works.

I can't believe that this is a healthy recipe. My husband was scared to try it when I told them that there was tofu in it, but then after he tried it he loved it. Very good.

I thought this would be a good smoothie, but not this good! It kind of reminded me of an orange julius in a way. One thing I added was some soy protein, but flavor wise this was very good. Next time I will try substituting heavy cream for milk and see if the taste is still there.

We made this last night and both my husband and I thought it was very tasty. A good substitute for all of the really bad fattening one's out there. Try it and you'll like it.
